The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) in Qatar recently announced the launch of seven new programs designed to meet market needs and contribute to economic growth in both Qatar and the global community. These programs include a Master of Science in Process Safety at the College of Engineering and Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with three tracks at the College of Health Sciences. The College of Computing and Information Technology is offering a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Cybersecurity and a combined Arabic and English track in the Bachelor of Science in Digital Communication and Media Production. The College of Business is offering a Bachelor of Business Administration in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and a Master of Science in Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship. These new programs will be available for the Fall 2024 semester and are currently open for admission.

Dr. Salem Al Naemi, President of UDST, emphasized the importance of these new programs, highlighting the university’s commitment to preparing students for both current and future job market demands. The programs were developed following a comprehensive field study involving specialists, industry leaders, and academics. Students at UDST have the opportunity to learn in simulated environments and gain practical experience through the university’s network of industry partners. The university aims to produce graduates with employable skills through a critical and integrative learning experience.

The Master of Science in Process Safety program was created in response to a growing demand for graduates and specialists in process safety, particularly in light of Qatar’s significant expansion in liquefied natural gas production. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program aims to address the global shortage of nurses, providing pathways for licensed practical nurses to advance their education and credentials. The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Cybersecurity program aligns with Qatar Vision 2030, focusing on emerging technologies and digital transformation initiatives. The Bachelor of Business Administration in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with a concentration in Marine Logistics aims to produce specialists capable of addressing modern challenges in the logistics sector, including maritime logistics. The focus is on integrating core business administration principles with a specialization in the maritime field.

The Master of Science in Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship program focuses on key business skills related to technology, design thinking, and innovation in the digital marketing field. Courses include Strategic Marketing Management, Digital Media, Entrepreneurial Marketing, and Strategic Brand Management. The combined Arabic and English track in the Bachelor of Science in Digital Communication and Media Production meets the needs of the Qatar media market by equipping graduates with the latest digital technologies in media production. The program aims to attract more Qatari students and provide them with the necessary skills to succeed in the rapidly evolving media industry.

Overall, the University of Doha for Science and Technology’s new programs reflect a commitment to meeting market demands, supporting economic growth, and preparing students for future job market needs. By working closely with industry partners and academic experts, UDST aims to provide students with a comprehensive and practical education that will equip them with the skills needed for success in their chosen fields. These programs offer diverse pathways for students to explore and develop their interests in areas such as engineering, healthcare, technology, business, and media production. With a focus on applied education and real-world experience, UDST is preparing the next generation of professionals to thrive in a rapidly changing global marketplace.
