In August 2024, there was a 3.2 percent decrease in traffic accident cases in Doha compared to July 2024, with a total of 583 accidents recorded. However, the number of deaths and major traffic accidents increased, with 11 deaths and 36 major accidents reported in August. Among the traffic accident cases, 92% were minor, 6% were major, and 2% resulted in fatalities. The Traffic Departments in various regions of Doha reported different numbers of accident cases, with Al Mamoura leading at 112 cases.

Violations of traffic rules saw an 8.6% decrease in August 2024 compared to July 2024, with a total of 206,703 violations recorded. However, there was an 18.4% increase in traffic violations in August 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. Of all traffic violations, 68% were due to speeding, 21% were related to standing and waiting violations, and 11% were categorized under other violations. Over speeding violations declined by 7.9% in August 2024 compared to July, but year-on-year they dropped by 7.8%.

Passing traffic signal violations increased by 2% in August 2024 compared to July, but year-on-year they decreased by 35.4%. Guidelines and alarm signal violations declined by 13.1% in August 2024 compared to July, and by 59.6% compared to August 2023. Metallic plate violations dropped by 2.6% in August 2024 compared to July, but they rose by 290.7% compared to August 2023. Overtaking violations increased by 1.1% in August 2024 compared to July, but they decreased by 8.8% year-on-year. Registration and form non-renewal violations rose by 9.7% in August 2024 compared to July, but they declined by 10% compared to August 2023.

Driving license violations decreased by 13% in August 2024 compared to July, and by 33% compared to August 2023. Traffic movement violations declined by 14.5% in August 2024 compared to July, and by 246% compared to August 2023. Stand and wait rules violations dropped by 5.2% in August 2024 compared to July, and by only 1.9% compared to August 2023. Other violations increased by 1.6% in August 2024 compared to July, but they remained relatively stable year-on-year. Overall, while traffic accidents decreased slightly in August 2024, violations of traffic rules still remained a concern in Doha.
