The Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s summer centres in Qatar are experiencing high demand from students, with the Doha Girls Center at Al Bayan First Primary Independent School for Girls being particularly popular among female students. These centres offer a wide range of workshops and activities focused on various subjects such as science, social awareness, technology, and sports, aimed at developing students’ talents, abilities, and personalities. The theme for this year’s summer activities is “summer of excellence”, emphasizing the importance of personal and social skill development.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has been instrumental in providing students with opportunities to enhance their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills through these summer activities. Participation in these programs not only promotes mental and physical health but also helps students discover new talents, boost self-confidence, and improve their ability to face challenges. The Doha Girls Center has developed a comprehensive plan for activities and workshops covering a wide range of topics tailored to different age groups, including recycling, cooking, drawing, self-defense, and leadership development.

The summer programs at the Doha Girls Center cater to different age groups, with activities designed to help children aged 7 to 12 develop their creativity, teamwork skills, and awareness of environmental issues. For young adults, the programs focus on personal development, leadership, decision-making, and expressing emotions. The center has seen between 140 and 200 female students participating in its activities daily, reflecting the success of its high-quality structure in enabling students to fully develop their skills and personalities.

These five-week summer centers, which began on July 1, have become an annual tradition in Qatar, providing students with a platform to engage in diverse and impactful activities that offer valuable knowledge for their academic and practical lives. The centers are located in schools both in and outside of Doha, with trained staff overseeing the management of the programs during opening hours from 9am to 1pm. The goal of these centers is to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet modern requirements and overcome challenges with wisdom and courage.

Overall, the summer centers organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth in Qatar have proven to be highly beneficial for students, offering a wide array of activities and workshops that cater to different age groups and interests. The success of these centers lies in their ability to provide students with opportunities to enhance their skills, boost their confidence, and develop their personalities, ultimately contributing to their future success and the betterment of their communities. As these summer centers continue to attract a high turnout of students, it is clear that they play a crucial role in enriching the educational experience and empowering the youth in Qatar.
