The Qatar CSR Summit 2024 Begins at QNCC

The Qatar CSR Summit 2024 was inaugurated by Minister of Education and Higher Education, H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, under the theme “The Future of CSR in a Circular Economy” at the Qatar National Convention Centre. The three-day summit was attended by various prominent figures including Qatar University President, Dr. Omar Al Ansari, Ooredoo Chief Executive Officer, Sheikh Ali bin Jaber Al Thani, and QNB Group Chief Business Officer, Yousef Mahmoud Al Neama. The event aimed at promoting social responsibility as an integral part of academic and educational missions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for a collective commitment towards CSR.

Dr. Al Ansari highlighted the university’s dedication to raising awareness and developing skills among students to address social and environmental issues. He called for continuous cooperation and constructive efforts among all attendees to generate innovative ideas and practical solutions for the community. Mohammed Abdulrazaq Al-Siddiqi, Director of Financial & Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, praised the establishment of a corporate social responsibility culture in Qatar through cooperation between the government and business community.

The event also recognized H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani as the CSR Person of the Year in Qatar for his exceptional contributions to sustainability and climate change mitigation. The Conference and Exhibition on Social Responsibility saw participation from governmental and semi-governmental agencies, private sector companies, and international bodies, emphasizing the importance of CSR for the future of society and business. Such events help businesses align social projects with sustainable development plans and Qatar’s National Vision 2030 objectives.

Overall, the Qatar CSR Summit 2024 shed light on the significance of corporate social responsibility in shaping a sustainable future for society and business. The event brought together various stakeholders to discuss and collaborate on implementing social projects that align with Qatar’s development goals.
