The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar is making efforts to attract Qatari citizens to work as imams and preachers while allowing them to maintain their primary positions in other sectors. Assistant Undersecretary for Daawah and Mosques Affairs Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwari emphasized the importance of this project, stating that it is in line with the leadership’s directives and the ministry’s strategy to provide mosques with qualified individuals who can address societal issues effectively.

This initiative is part of the ministry’s broader goal to improve the quality of religious services and promote a better understanding of community needs among imams and preachers. By attracting and retaining Qatari imams and preachers, the ministry aims to create a more inclusive and knowledgeable religious leadership that can effectively engage with the local community. This strategy also aligns with the country’s commitment to promoting national talent and expertise in various fields.

The multi-category reward system implemented by the Ministry of Awqaf is designed to incentivize Qatari citizens to take on roles as imams and preachers. By offering additional benefits and support, the ministry hopes to encourage more individuals to pursue careers in religious leadership while also balancing their responsibilities in other sectors. This approach reflects the government’s commitment to empowering Qatari citizens and promoting their active participation in various aspects of society.

In addition to attracting and qualifying Qatari imams and preachers, the ministry is also focused on providing ongoing training and development opportunities for religious leaders. By enhancing their understanding of societal issues, needs, and aspirations, the ministry aims to equip imams and preachers with the knowledge and awareness necessary to address these challenges effectively. This proactive approach to professional development highlights the ministry’s commitment to promoting continuous improvement and excellence within the religious leadership sector.

Overall, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ efforts to attract Qatari citizens to work as imams and preachers reflect a commitment to promoting national talent and expertise in religious leadership. By providing incentives and support through the multi-category reward system, the ministry aims to create a more inclusive and knowledgeable religious leadership that can effectively engage with the local community and address societal issues with wisdom and awareness. Through ongoing training and development opportunities, the ministry is also working to enhance the capabilities of imams and preachers, ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet the needs of the community and contribute positively to society.
