The 37th meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Youth and Sports in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries recently took place in Doha, Qatar, under the auspices of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. This meeting was an opportunity to discuss various topics of shared interest in the Gulf youth sector, including structuring technical committees affiliated with the Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports to align with the decision to establish the 150th session of the Ministerial Council and the future action plan for the years 2024-2030.

During the meeting, a ceremony was held to honor categories of executive leaderships and innovative Gulf youth, showcasing the commitment to recognizing and supporting the achievements and contributions of young people in the region. Additionally, the 40th meeting of the Undersecretaries of Ministries of Youth and Sports in the GCC countries took place in preparation for the Ministerial meeting, further emphasizing the importance of collaboration and coordination among member states in advancing youth and sports initiatives.

One of the key discussions at the meeting was the proposal by the GCC General-Secretariat to explore unified Gulf projects in the youth field. This initiative aims to enhance cooperation and collaboration among GCC countries in developing and implementing youth-related projects that benefit the region as a whole. The Planning, Follow-up, and Coordination Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports of GCC countries was tasked with setting the Gulf Youth Development Index and developing appropriate executive plans in line with current and future developments and the visions of member states in the youth field.

The meeting provided a platform for ministers and officials to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore opportunities for enhancing youth development and sports initiatives across the GCC countries. By aligning technical committees with strategic plans and establishing a unified approach to youth projects, member states can work together more effectively to support the growth and empowerment of young people in the region.

In conclusion, the 37th meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Youth and Sports in the GCC countries in Doha highlighted the commitment of member states to promoting youth development and sports initiatives. By honoring executive leaderships and innovative youth, exploring unified projects, and setting the Gulf Youth Development Index, GCC countries are taking steps to strengthen cooperation and collaboration in advancing the well-being and opportunities of young people in the region. Through continued dialogue and coordination, member states can work together towards a brighter future for the youth of the Gulf.
