Texas A&M at Qatar acknowledges student accomplishments at annual awards event

The Aggie Achievement Awards at Texas A&M University at Qatar recognized outstanding students who excelled in academics, leadership, and involvement during the 2023-2024 academic year. This year’s undergraduate student awardees included Murtaza Gundru, Yomna Sultan, Muhammad Saad, Mohamed AlAssi, and Ghada Abdelrahmane, while the Graduate Student of the Year was Insha Shaikh. Other awards included the Buck Weirus Spirit Award, Gathright Phi Kappa Phi Outstanding Junior Award, Richard E. Ewing Award for Excellence in Student Research, and Aggie Core Value Awards.

The Qatari Student Association was recognized as the Student Organization of the Year, with QSA President Noor Henzab expressing pride in representing Qatari culture to the wider community in Education City. Muhammad Saad, who won multiple awards, attributed his success to the support of mentors, teammates, and friends. He dedicated his awards to those who challenged and supported him throughout his journey at Texas A&M University.

Twenty-five students received Engineering ELITES certificates, highlighting their participation in High-Impact Practices that develop valuable skills for the job market. Dr. Hazem Nounou, associate dean for academic and student services, commended the exceptional efforts of the students who not only excelled academically but also embodied the Aggie core values. He congratulated all the hardworking Aggies who earned these awards through their dedication and remarkable efforts.

The Aggie Achievement Award ceremony at Texas A&M University at Qatar celebrated students who demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, and involvement during the 2023-2024 academic year. Awardees included outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from various engineering and arts and sciences disciplines. Student organizations and advisors were also recognized for their contributions to student life.

The Qatari Student Association was honored as the Student Organization of the Year, with President Noor Henzab expressing pride in showcasing Qatari culture to the wider community.
