Tariq Bin Ziad School, part of Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, is preparing for a new chapter of growth by launching a new preparatory school. Dr. Maha Al Rumaihi, Principal of the school, shared that the expansion is supported by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and follows the success of the primary education program. The school follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) system, and enrollment for 11 to 12-year-olds is currently open through their website. The temporary building in Al Sadd will be used until the new building in Education City is completed.

Dr. Al Rumaihi expressed excitement about the upcoming launch of the middle school, stating that the aim is to provide exceptional education for students and align with global standards. The school is working closely with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to ensure the best educational environment for students. The temporary facility in Al Sadd will have separate sections for boys and girls, with fully equipped classrooms, sporting facilities, science and computer labs, and music and drama spaces.

With the introduction of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), the school will start with sixth grade for the 2024/2025 academic year and add a new grade each year until reaching grade 12. Enrollment is open to everyone across Qatar, and currently, 59 students have joined the middle school. The school has hired 14 new staff members, including teachers, a secretary, and a nurse, to meet the needs of the expanding school. Dr. Al Rumaihi will oversee the general management, with a dedicated coordinator and teacher supervising the educational process.

Despite the challenges that come with expansion, the school is confident in its organizational structure and staff capabilities to navigate any difficulties. Continuous communication and coordination between the primary and middle schools will contribute to creating a cohesive and integrated learning environment. The goal is to provide a comprehensive educational pathway for students, empowering them to fulfill their academic and professional aspirations in the future.

The school’s temporary facility in Al Sadd, fully equipped with classrooms and sporting facilities, will accommodate the middle school students until the completion of the new building in Education City. The separate sections for boys and girls, along with shared facilities scheduled at different times, aim to provide a conducive learning environment for all students. The recruitment campaign has led to the hiring of 14 new staff members, ensuring that the school has the necessary resources to support the expansion and development of the middle school.

In conclusion, Tariq Bin Ziad School is embarking on an exciting new phase with the launch of the middle school, introducing the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and expanding its educational offerings. With a focus on providing exceptional education and aligning with global standards, the school is committed to creating a well-rounded learning environment for students. The recruitment of new staff members and the careful planning of organizational structure will help navigate the challenges that come with expansion, ultimately contributing to the success of the school’s growth.
