In light of the upcoming inauguration of a new legislative term in the State of Qatar, significant developments are underway to enhance participation in decision-making processes. Under the guidance of H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, the country is steadfast in its efforts to ensure a prosperous present and a bright future for its citizens. The State of Qatar is focused on strengthening the foundations of a modern state with solid security, stability, progress, development, and growth.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the fourth ordinary session of the first legislative term, which corresponds to the 53rd annual session of the Council. H H the Amir will deliver a speech highlighting the state’s financial, economic, and development policies, achievements, visions, and future plans. These initiatives aim to align with the aspirations of the Qatari people and propel the country towards new stages of progress and success, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

On the external front, H H the Amir’s speech will address the State of Qatar’s policy towards various Arab, regional, and international issues, including the situation in the Middle East. Emphasis will be placed on the challenges facing the Arab region, especially in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. The State of Qatar maintains firm stances on these issues, reflecting its commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The Shura Council of Qatar plays a pivotal role in the country’s legislative process, ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of citizens are addressed. With over 50 years of experience, the Council has been instrumental in supporting the modernization and development initiatives of the state. Through collaboration with government entities, the Council presents proposals that cater to the needs of citizens, contributing to the overall progress and prosperity of the nation.

In its previous session, the Shura Council discussed and approved numerous draft laws, including the general budget for the fiscal year 2024. The council also delved into topics such as real estate regulations, judicial enforcement, and nationalizing jobs in the private sector. By prioritizing issues that impact society, the Council demonstrates its commitment to serving the best interests of the country and its people.

Furthermore, the Shura Council has been actively engaged in strengthening parliamentary relations with various countries worldwide. By participating in regional and international parliamentary conferences, the Council promotes Qatar’s clear policies and firm positions on national and international issues. The Council represents Qatar in parliamentary unions and organizations, advocating for the interests of the nation and its citizens on a global platform.

In conclusion, the State of Qatar’s journey towards progress and prosperity is fueled by the dedication and collaborative efforts of its leadership and institutions, including the Shura Council. By embracing principles of Shura and promoting transparency and participation in decision-making, Qatar is poised to achieve its long-term goals outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030. The forthcoming legislative term holds promise for continued development and advancement, solidifying Qatar’s position as a leader in the region and a global player on the world stage.
