The Qatar Foundation Schools Commencement Ceremony recently took place in Doha, Qatar, honouring 290 graduates, with 246 of them being Qataris, from seven different QF schools. Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, and Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, were present at the ceremony, along with ministers, diplomats, teachers, faculty members, and families of the graduating students. The event, held at the Qatar National Convention Centre, was a celebration of the students’ achievements and hard work throughout their educational journey.
Abeer Al Khalifa, President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation, gave a heartfelt speech at the ceremony, acknowledging the importance of the graduates’ accomplishments and the impact they will have on society. She emphasized the dedication of the schools in preparing the students for success and commended the graduating class for their commitment to global and humanitarian issues, particularly their support for the Palestinian cause. Al Khalifa praised the teachers for their valuable contribution to the students’ education and expressed gratitude to the academic and non-academic staff at QF schools for their continuous support.
Qatari filmmaker Amal Al-Muftah served as the keynote speaker at the event, sharing her personal journey from being a student at Qatar Academy Doha to pursuing a career in filmmaking. Al-Muftah encouraged the graduates to embrace both the joys and challenges that life brings, highlighting the importance of appreciating every moment as part of their unique story. She emphasized the significance of respecting and honoring their heritage, as their stories are an integral part of their identity and culture, shaping their future endeavors.
During the commencement ceremony, each graduate received their diploma on stage, with valedictorians from each school receiving special recognition. To add a touch of creativity to the event, students from QF schools, including members of Qatar Music Academy, performed a song titled ‘Our Dream’, produced in collaboration with Qatari artist Fahad Al-Hajjaji. The ceremony was a culmination of the students’ hard work and dedication, celebrating their achievements as they prepare to embark on new beginnings and challenges in their lives.
