Qatar Foundation (QF) recently held its Annual Alumni Forum, bringing together hundreds of graduates from its schools, international partner universities, and Hamad Bin Khalifa University. During the event, a new QF Alumni Award was announced to recognize graduates who make positive changes in their communities. The theme of the forum was social responsibility and moral commitment, highlighting the importance of civic duty and Islamic values.
The QF Alumni Award will honor graduates who have contributed to society through dedication to social responsibility and civic engagement. The criteria for the award will be linked to each year’s forum theme, with four categories to celebrate alumni achievements. The Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, expressed her pride in the graduates and their efforts to make a difference in the world.
Key national stakeholders, including ministers, dignitaries, and industry leaders, attended the forum. Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, emphasized the importance of instilling responsibility values in society and sharing inspiring experiences to impact future generations positively. Minister of Public Health, HE Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, highlighted the challenges facing the world and the role of social responsibility in addressing these issues.
Panel discussions at the forum featured QF alumni sharing their experiences and insights on academic and professional excellence, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. Workshops focused on advocating for social change, emotional intelligence in social advocacy, and leadership during times of crisis. QF alumni showcased their innovative projects and social initiatives that have contributed to positive social change in the Impact Zone.
The QF Alumni Program aims to cultivate a global network of alumni connected by their shared experiences at QF. It provides opportunities for alumni to support each other, retain their ties to Qatar, and contribute to the nation’s development. The QF Alumni Office advocates for policies that help graduates contribute to Qatar’s journey and builds relationships with public and private sector organizations. In 2023, the office facilitated 168 job opportunities for alumni and engaged with 150 employers, showing a 50 percent increase from 2022.
As QF continues to empower graduates to drive positive change, the alumni community plays a crucial role in supporting each other and making a difference in their communities. Through the Annual Alumni Forum and the QF Alumni Program, graduates have the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and inspire each other to create a better future for Qatar and beyond.
