Kahramaa and QGOSM joined efforts to raise awareness about the GSO Green Label Requirements through a seminar aimed at manufacturers, importers, and traders of water fixtures. The seminar is part of the implementation program for the Gulf Technical Regulation for Water-consumption Conservation Products, with the goal of promoting water resource management and environmental sustainability. Participants learned about the requirements for obtaining the Green Label, the strategic importance of compliance with the regulation, and the responsibilities and procedures involved.
Eng. Rashid Al-Rahimi emphasized the importance of disseminating standards for water tools in all Gulf countries, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030. Eng. Meshal Mohamed Al-Shaikh highlighted QGOSM’s role in achieving Qatar Vision 2030 through the preparation of technical legislation, such as the Technical Regulation for Water-consumption Conservation Products. The seminar covered five key topics, including the importance of water conservation in the region, the Gulf Technical Regulation for Water-Consumption Conservation Products, rights and obligations of concerned parties, application process and acquisition of the Green Label, and a question-and-answer session.
Participants, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, regulatory bodies, engineers, and academics, were encouraged to collaborate and ensure effective implementation of the regulation. The seminar provided guidance and support on handling challenges during the compliance process and emphasized the impact of compliance on the environmental and economic profile of institutions. By implementing the Gulf Technical Regulation, countries can enhance water sustainability and utilize natural resources efficiently, in line with national development strategies.
Overall, the seminar served as a platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and addressing concerns related to water conservation and compliance with regulations.
