Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a part of Qatar Foundation (QF), has announced the launch of the fourth edition of its “Little Employee” initiative. This program is designed to provide children aged 7 to 15 with a hands-on experience in real-world work environments. By participating in this initiative, children can explore different career interests and gain valuable insights into the world of work.
From May 30 to December 30, 2024, children will have the opportunity to spend a day assisting their parents or relatives at work. This experience is meant to be both educational and enjoyable, allowing children to learn about various professions and understand the basics of work and career concepts. The initiative is open to children locally and worldwide, with over 800 participants taking part in last year’s edition.
Parents have the flexibility to choose any working day within the specified period to host their children at work. This allows for a convenient and customizable experience for both children and parents. The initiative has received strong support from 21 of Qatar’s leading organizations from the public and private sectors, including the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar News Agency, Porsche Qatar, and Nakilat.
The “Little Employee” initiative aims to foster curiosity and inspire children to explore their potential career paths in a practical and engaging manner. By providing children with a firsthand look at various professions, the program encourages them to think about their future career interests. This hands-on approach is meant to spark an interest in different fields and help children make informed decisions about their future.
Through participating in the “Little Employee” initiative, children can gain practical experience and develop important skills that will benefit them in the future. By understanding the importance of work and being exposed to different work environments, children can start building a foundation for their future careers. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for children to learn about the world of work in a fun and interactive way.
Overall, the “Little Employee” initiative by QCDC is a valuable program that offers children the opportunity to explore potential career paths and gain practical experience in various professions. By participating in this initiative, children can develop important skills and gain valuable insights into the world of work. With the support of leading organizations in Qatar, this program aims to inspire and educate children about the importance of work and career development.
