Qatar News Agency recently held a workshop entitled ‘Preserving Public Funds’ in partnership with the State Audit Bureau. The workshop aimed to train national media and administrative cadres on topics such as the objectives of the State Audit Bureau, types of oversight, financial violations, and complaints received by the Bureau. The workshop also covered the supervisory powers granted to the State Audit Bureau, including the review of meeting minutes, reports, and documents of entities under its oversight.
During the workshop, the Director of Internal Audit Review Department at the State Audit Bureau highlighted the bodies covered by the Bureau’s oversight, which include ministries, government agencies, public bodies, and institutions. He also discussed the various mechanisms through which complaints can be submitted to the Bureau, such as personal attendance, mailbox, hotline, or email. The State Audit Bureau receives complaints related to violations that result in the unlawful disbursement of public funds or the loss of one of the financial rights of the state.
The workshop emphasized the importance of building communication bridges with various segments of society to enhance contribution to preserving public funds. Participants from various sections and departments at Qatar News Agency engaged in discussions and questions that enriched the workshop. Qatar News Agency organizes such training courses and workshops at its ‘QNA Training Halls’ to develop cadres in the media field and provide them with necessary knowledge in journalistic and media work.
Qatar News Agency’s vision is to enhance the media field with qualified young Qatari cadres who can keep pace with transformations and developments in specialized fields. The agency offers specialized training programs to support this vision. Such workshops contribute to raising the efficiency of national media and administrative cadres and enhancing their understanding of important specialized fields in journalism and media work.
