The Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a foundation of Qatar Foundation (QF), recently hosted a closing ceremony to recognize participants and partner institutions of the second phase of its “EmpowerAbility” program. The program aimed to educate individuals with learning difficulties on various aspects of entrepreneurship, financial planning, marketing, and project presentation. Over three weeks, 17 participants received training through workshops, educational activities, and career guidance sessions. The program concluded with a closing ceremony and exhibition where participants showcased their business ideas developed under the guidance of experts from over 15 institutions.

Abdulla A Al Mansoori, Director of QCDC, highlighted the significant impact of the “EmpowerAbility” program, emphasizing the importance of integrating individuals with learning difficulties into economic development through entrepreneurship. He commended the participants for their achievements and emphasized the program’s focus on individual transformation and societal change. The collaboration of dedicated partners was also acknowledged, with plans to continue developing the initiative in the future.

The Director of the Administrative and Finance Department at Qatar Chamber, Hussein Yousef Abdul Ghani, lauded the “EmpowerAbility” program for introducing people with learning difficulties to the world of entrepreneurship. He thanked QCDC, the Young Entrepreneurs Club, and all contributors for their efforts in supporting the program. Qatar Chamber’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship for economic growth was underlined, with a pledge to continue supporting young entrepreneurs in their future endeavors.

Dr. Ibrahim Khalid Al Sulaiti, President of the Young Entrepreneurs Club, underscored the alignment of the EmpowerAbility program with the inclusive values of Qatar National Vision 2030. He described the initiative as an investment in the inclusive and sustainable future of Qatar, aiming to provide opportunities for individuals with learning difficulties to contribute effectively to their nation. The closing ceremony featured an exhibition where participants presented their business ideas to a panel of judges, with the top three participants receiving recognition for their efforts and innovative ideas.

Partner institutions involved in the program included the Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Sports and Youth, Qatar Manpower Solutions Company “Jusour,” Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and others. The program focused on fostering inclusive employment and essential employability skills through two tracks: participating in national day activations to develop skills like communication and teamwork, and acquiring entrepreneurial skills while receiving guidance through initial steps. Feedback from participants and their families will shape future iterations of the program, ensuring continued empowerment for individuals with learning difficulties to achieve their goals.

In conclusion, the “EmpowerAbility” program by QCDC has made significant strides in empowering individuals with learning difficulties through entrepreneurship and essential employability skills. The collaboration with partner institutions and the recognition of participants’ achievements reflect a commitment to inclusive employment and accessible career development. By aligning with the values of Qatar National Vision 2030, the program aims to provide opportunities for all individuals to contribute to the sustainable future of Qatar. Through ongoing feedback and development, the program will continue to empower individuals with learning difficulties to succeed in their endeavors.
