The delegation from Qatar, representing the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) and Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post), recently participated in the 2024 session of the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) Council of Administration (CA) in Switzerland. From November 4 to November 8, the Qatari delegation played a key role in strategic discussions and committee leadership, showcasing Qatar’s influence in shaping global postal standards and practices. Qatar co-chaired Committee 4 with the Republic of Belarus, focusing on Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance to advance the global postal sector and address disparities in postal infrastructure.
Qatar’s active engagement at the UPU session demonstrated its commitment to sustainable, innovative, and cooperative solutions for global postal systems. The discussions during the session covered various critical topics such as disaster risk management, quality of service enhancements, financial inclusion initiatives, and sustainable development strategies.
