The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has predicted hot weather continuing in Qatar on May 18, with temperatures expected to range between 28°C and 38°C. The department also warns of slight dust in some areas, as well as expected strong winds and high sea waves. Offshore, wave heights could reach up to 7 feet. It is advised that the public exercise caution and avoid marine activities in such conditions.

Today, the maximum temperature recorded was a scorching 43°C at Abu Samra area. Inshore, the wind is expected to travel northwesterly at a speed of 6 to 16 knots, with gusts reaching up to 24 knots at times. Given these factors, it is important for residents to stay updated on weather forecasts through official sources or the Q Weather app.

With the hot temperatures and potential dust in the air, it is crucial for individuals to take necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy. This includes staying hydrated, wearing sunscreen, and avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. If engaging in outdoor activities, it is recommended to take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.

In addition to the weather conditions, the strong winds and high sea waves pose a risk to those participating in marine activities. It is strongly advised to refrain from such activities during this time to ensure personal safety. By heeding the advice of the QMD and being aware of the potential risks, residents can better protect themselves and reduce the likelihood of weather-related incidents.

As temperatures remain high, it is important for individuals to be mindful of the potential health effects of extreme heat, including heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Symptoms to watch out for include dizziness, confusion, nausea, and rapid heartbeat. If experiencing these symptoms, it is crucial to seek medical attention immediately. By staying informed and prepared, residents can effectively navigate the challenging weather conditions in Qatar.

In conclusion, Qatar is set to experience hot weather on May 18, with temperatures reaching up to 38°C. Residents should be wary of strong winds, high sea waves, and potential dust in some areas. By staying updated on weather forecasts and taking necessary precautions, individuals can protect themselves and stay safe during this period of extreme heat. Remember to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight, and prioritize personal safety in all outdoor activities.
