Doha: Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the United Nations, represented by the General Secretariat and its subsidiary organs, signed on Thursday in Doha an agreement on the administrative arrangements for the establishment of the UN House in Qatar, which would regulate the administrative issues of the UN House so that UN offices could start their work at the headquarters.
The Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani signed the agreement on the part of Qatar, while the UN was represented by representatives of the General Secretariat and offices and subsidiary organs.
The headquarters contributes to strengthening the partnership between Qatar and the UN, specialized agencies and other organizations at the international multilateral level. It also focuses on Qatar’s cooperation with the UN, and facilitates the establishment of more offices in the future.
