Qatar Takes Part in Events at Francophonie Village in Paris

The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture, is actively participating in the activities of the Francophonie Village, held on the sidelines of the 19th Francophonie Summit hosted by the French Republic. The theme for this year’s summit is “Create, innovate, and do business in French.” The Ministry of Culture has organized a pavilion in the Francophone Village, showcasing various aspects of Qatari culture. The pavilion features traditional Qatari clothing like the Nashal and Bisht, as well as displays on the manufacture of gypsum and Qatari mishmum. Visitors can also enjoy a theatrical performance of the “Nahham” art.

In addition to the traditional clothing and theatrical performance, the Ministry’s pavilion also includes screens showing video clips translated into French to introduce the State of Qatar. Virtual reality glasses are available for visitors to experience different aspects of Qatari culture, such as the Ardha dance, camels, Qatari coffee, and folk games. The pavilion also showcases some Qatari publications translated into French, as well as the Ministry’s publications in Qatari script. One of the featured books is “Saber” by Qatari photographer Mohammed Jassim Al Baker, which explores Qatari birds. Another publication highlighted is “From the Eyes of Nabati Poetry – Ghaza,” a publication from the Qatar Poetry Center affiliated with the Ministry of Culture. Visitors to the pavilion can also receive gifts as part of the cultural exchange.

The participation of the State of Qatar at the Francophonie Village is an opportunity to promote and celebrate Qatari culture on an international platform. Through the various displays and performances, visitors can gain a deeper insight into the rich traditions and customs of Qatar.
