Qatar Museums’ animated folktale series, “Hazawy,” has recently received recognition at the prestigious Collision Awards. The series won the Audience Choice Award and Silver Award in the “non-profit” category, as well as the Silver Award in the “Arts & Culture” category. Produced by the Qatar Museums Digital Production team in 2023, “Hazawy” is a four-part animated series that brings Qatari folklore to life through mesmerizing storytelling and striking animation. Each episode explores the intersection of reality and the supernatural, delving into the depths of human emotions and existence.

CEO of Qatar Museums, Mohammed Al Rumaihi, expressed his pride in receiving these awards, attributing them to the remarkable efforts of the Digital Production team. He highlighted “Hazawy” as a prime example of the organization’s commitment to preserving Qatar’s cultural heritage through innovative storytelling. Sheikha Roda Al Thani, the lead producer of the series, also expressed her gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing that “Hazawy” is more than just animation; it is a tribute to Qatar’s cultural legacy.

The Collision Awards, known for recognizing outstanding achievements in various fields, acknowledged “Hazawy” for its contribution to the arts and culture sector and its impactful outreach in the non-profit domain. The series, available in Arabic with English subtitles, can be accessed on the Qatar Museums website and YouTube channel, allowing a global audience to enjoy the enchanting tales of Qatari folklore. This recognition at the Collision Awards further solidifies the series’ position as a unique and captivating representation of Qatar’s rich cultural heritage.
