Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC), located at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), recently hosted a group of summer interns from various universities across Qatar and the region. This initiative is in line with QMIC’s commitment to nurturing local talent and grooming the next generation of professionals. The program saw over 20 undergraduate students from diverse academic backgrounds, including Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and Business, gaining hands-on experience in their respective fields. By immersing the interns in QMIC’s projects, they were able to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges.

Omar Al Jaber, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Outreach at QMIC, expressed gratitude to QSTP for providing a conducive working environment for the interns. He highlighted the mutual benefit of the program, with students getting the opportunity to apply their learning in a practical setting, while QMIC benefits from their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. This collaborative effort aims to prepare the youth for leadership roles that will shape Qatar’s future. Dr. Fethi Filali, the Director of Technology & Research at QMIC, mentioned the interns’ involvement in cutting-edge projects related to Applied Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Cooperative & Automated Mobility, and smart embedded systems, ensuring they gain exposure to the latest technologies.

Throughout the internship program, the students made significant contributions that will be integrated into ongoing projects at QMIC. With the aim of equipping the interns with valuable knowledge, skills, and abilities for their future careers, the program is set to have a lasting impact on the participants. The team at QMIC is excited to build on the interns’ insights and pave the way for further development and implementation of their contributions. The hands-on experience gained by the interns during their time at QMIC will undoubtedly prepare them for future challenges and innovations in their respective fields.

In conclusion, the internship program at QMIC has proven to be a fruitful experience for both the students and the center. By providing a platform for young talents to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios, QMIC is contributing to the development of skilled professionals who will drive Qatar’s future innovation landscape. The collaboration between academia and industry is crucial in preparing the next generation of leaders, and QMIC’s commitment to this cause is evident through its internship program. As the interns prepare to conclude their time at QMIC, they leave behind a legacy of valuable contributions that will continue to impact the center’s projects. With a focus on technical advancements and practical learning, QMIC is nurturing a pool of talent that is well-equipped to tackle future challenges and drive innovation in Qatar and beyond.
