This star’s ascent is predicted to last for 13 days in total. During this time, the weather is forecast to be at its coldest, with increased chances of fog formation. The people of the Arabian Peninsula named the star Shola due to its resemblance to a scorpion’s tail.

In its daily report, the Qatar Meteorology Department announced that the weather inshore for Wednesday, January 1, 2025, until 6am on Thursday will be cloudy at times and cold by night. They also warned of sparse occasional strong wind. Offshore, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy with chances of scattered rain, along with a strong sea and high wind warning.

In terms of wind patterns, inshore wind is expected to be northwesterly, going at 10 to 20KT gusting to 25KT at times. Offshore, the wind will be northwesterly, going at 15 to 25KT gusting to 32KT at times. This information is crucial for residents and visitors to Qatar to be prepared for the weather conditions during the Shola star period.

As the Shola star marks the coldest period in Qatar during the Al Mraba’aniya season, it is essential for individuals to take precautions and dress warmly during this time. The increased chances of fog formation also highlight the importance of being cautious while driving or navigating outdoor areas. By staying informed about the weather forecast provided by the Qatar Meteorology Department, people can better prepare for the challenges posed by the Shola star.

Overall, the beginning of the Shola star in Qatar signifies the transition towards the coldest period in the Al Mraba’aniya season. By monitoring weather updates and heeding the warnings provided by the Qatar Meteorology Department, individuals can ensure their safety and well-being during this time.
