Qatar Attends International Climate Change Conference in Germany

The State of Qatar recently participated in the Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB60) in Germany, with the Qatari delegation being led by Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Sada, the Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC). During the conference, emphasis was placed on the importance of dialogue with stakeholders to implement the Paris Climate Agreement, ensuring that negotiation results align with countries’ development plans.

Various topics related to climate change were discussed during the meetings, including the outcomes of the Paris Agreement and decisions regarding adaptation and mitigation strategies. The discussions also focused on supporting programs and projects related to adaptation and mitigation, including financing, technology development, capacity building, and transparency. The Qatari delegation, consisting of representatives from different national parties, actively participated in negotiations on key topics, aligning with the positions of developing countries and national interests.
