Qatar Airways agrees to expand Boeing 777-9 aircraft order

Qatar Airways made a significant announcement at the Farnborough International Airshow, expanding its order of Boeing 777X aircraft to include an additional 20 Boeing 777-9s. This brings the total number of commercial and cargo Boeing 777X aircraft ordered by the airline to 94. In addition to the aircraft order, Qatar Airways also committed to 40 GE9X engines and spare engines, as well as a long-term services agreement. This expansion comes after the airline showcased its Qsuite Next Gen on the first day of the airshow, featuring updated features such as movable monitors with Bluetooth connectivity, larger lie-flat and double beds, and touchscreen Passenger Control Units.

The expansion of the Boeing 777X aircraft order reflects Qatar Airways’ commitment to offering the best products and services to its passengers. As the World’s Best Airline, Qatar Airways aims to maintain its reputation as an industry leader with a young fleet and unparalleled innovation and quality. The airline’s CEO, Engr.
