In 2024, Msheireb Downtown Doha in Qatar saw a significant increase in visitors, welcoming over 15 million people, up from 9 million in 2023, marking a 66 percent rise. The area has become a premier destination in the country, attracting both residents and international visitors. The popularity of the Downtown was further reflected in the tram usage, with 1 million tram riders recorded this year alone, showcasing its growing appeal.

Notable events held at the Downtown, such as the Qatar National Day celebrations, drew large crowds, with 119,727 visitors on December 18th alone and a total of 380,891 visitors during the extended National Day celebrations from December 17-21. The increased visitor numbers were also seen in the tram ridership, with 5,168 passengers during the celebration period, a 24 percent rise from the previous year.

Dr. Hafiz Ali Abdullah, Senior Director of Corporate Communications at Msheireb Properties, expressed his delight at the success of the Downtown, stating that the increased visitor numbers across all facilities, including a 34 percent rise in car park usage, demonstrate its growing appeal as a preferred destination for both residents and visitors. The Downtown has established itself as Qatar’s premier destination for national celebrations and international events, playing a central role in major occasions throughout the year.

In 2025, Msheireb Downtown Doha plans to continue offering a variety of events for diverse audiences. Exciting events scheduled for the year include Hosh Msheireb at The Company House Courtyard, the Qatar Investment and Innovation Conference, the Candy Zone at Sahat Al Nakheel, Downtown Tech, and Qatar National Sports Day. The area will also host the Mal Awal exhibition and Orchestra in Barahat performances, as well as a series of Ramadan Iftar and Suhoor events.

Msheireb Downtown Doha is a sustainable development project by Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation for Education, Sciences and Community Development. The area is known for its innovative approach to urban planning, combining traditional methods with modern technology to preserve Qatar’s environment and cultural identity. All buildings in the Downtown are either Gold or Platinum LEED-certified, making it one of the smartest and most sustainable city downtowns in the country.

Overall, Msheireb Downtown Doha has become a dynamic hub in the heart of Doha, seamlessly hosting both large-scale national celebrations and intimate cultural gatherings. Its strategic location, state-of-the-art facilities, and diverse entertainment offerings have made it a preferred destination for both residents and visitors during significant events in Qatar.
