The Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, recently met with the Secretary-General of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA), H E Andreas Stefansson in Stockholm, Sweden. The meeting focused on discussing cooperation relations and the latest developments in Afghanistan, as well as other issues of mutual interest. Ambassador of Qatar to Sweden H E Nadya bint Ahmad Al Sheebi also attended the meeting to further strengthen diplomatic ties.
In addition to the meeting with the Secretary-General of the SCA, the Minister of State also met with the State Secretary for International Development Cooperation of Sweden, H E Diana Janse. During this meeting, they discussed the cooperation and relations between Qatar and Sweden, particularly in the development field. They also delved into the current developments in various countries such as the Gaza Strip, occupied Palestinian territories, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.
The Minister of State reiterated Qatar’s support for the recognition of the State of Palestine by Norway, Ireland, and Spain, emphasizing the importance of this step in promoting the two-state solution and achieving peace and stability in the region. She also highlighted Sweden’s role as the first country to recognize the State of Palestine back in 2014. The Ambassador of Qatar to Sweden, H E Nadya bint Ahmad Al Sheebi, was present at this meeting as well, showcasing the strong bilateral relations between Qatar and Sweden.
