Financial awareness is a crucial topic that the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) in Qatar is focusing on through their collaboration with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI). The first training sessions were organized for new employees, those who are about to get married, and debtors to provide them with the necessary tools for fiscal management. The two-day session, titled financial awareness, aims to educate both men and women on resource conservation, saving policies, and expenditure rationalization to achieve financial sustainability. The program also focuses on propagating financial awareness through innovative techniques that engage young people in society.
During the session, participants were introduced to various topics related to financial spending, correct spending habits, personal budgeting skills, strategies for identifying priority purchases, and achieving a successful spending equation. The training included discussions on 12 saving skills and 8 spending skills, along with a practical mock drill session and a tour of the world of debtors who transformed into wealthy individuals. Dr. Mona Babti, Head of the Training and Programme Development Department at the Center of Excellence for Training and Consulting, emphasized the significance of financial awareness in conserving resources, achieving financial stability, and ensuring societal well-being. The program targets individuals in debt, those planning to get married, new employees, and university students to promote the importance of practicing sound financial policies for a balanced and stable life in society.
Hessa Al Dhiyab, a social guidance consultant at the Ministry of Social Development and Family, highlighted the importance of preserving the family’s capabilities through wise spending and planning for household expenses. She emphasized the need for individuals to acquire skills and knowledge about best practices for achieving financial balance in life and helping future generations live within a framework of rationalization. The initiative by the ministry aims to build financial awareness based on Islamic values and utilize integrated models to manage financial life effectively in the face of global economic transformations. By discouraging unnecessary consumerism and promoting conscious spending habits, the program aims to create a sustainable society that offers equal opportunities for prosperity and sustainability to future generations.
Overall, the initiative by the Ministry of Social Development and Family in Qatar, in collaboration with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, highlights the importance of financial awareness and management for individuals at various stages of life.
