The Ministry of Social Development and Family in Doha, Qatar has announced the start of receiving nominations for the GCC Creativity and Excellence Award for Persons with Disabilities. This award aims to recognize and honor individuals as well as entities that have made significant contributions towards the empowerment of persons with disabilities. The award falls into two categories: creative and distinguished persons with disabilities, and entities supporting their empowerment.

According to a statement released by the Ministry, this award is considered a pioneering initiative organized by the Committee of Their Excellencies and Highnesses, the GCC Ministers of Social Affairs and Development. The primary goal of this award is to stimulate the energies and capabilities of persons with disabilities, their families, and society as a whole in order to achieve excellence in their lives. The award also aims to provide comprehensive support for creativity and excellence in all areas of life, enhancing their capabilities and supporting full integration.

The organizing committee of the Award has established a set of conditions that must be met by nominees. The nominee must be a person with a disability, without any specification regarding the degree or type of disability, or a specific age requirement. Additionally, the nominee must be a citizen of the country nominating them and have implemented projects or achievements that contribute to empowering persons with disabilities and improve their opportunities for integration into society.

Regarding entities nominated for supporting the empowerment of persons with disabilities, they must belong to the voluntary civil sector or be a private commercial sector institution. Nominations from official or governmental entities are not accepted. The entity must have implemented projects or initiatives aimed at empowering persons with disabilities, with tangible results that significantly contribute to this empowerment.

In order to be eligible for the GCC Creativity and Excellence Award for Persons with Disabilities, nominations must be submitted by the specified deadline to be considered for evaluation by the award’s organizing committee. The award aims to celebrate and acknowledge the outstanding achievements and contributions made by individuals and entities in supporting the empowerment and integration of persons with disabilities.

Nominations for this prestigious award are now open for individuals and entities who have demonstrated creativity, excellence, and commitment to empowering persons with disabilities. The award serves as a recognition of the efforts and dedication put forth in improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and promoting their full integration into society. It is a step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for persons with disabilities, encouraging them to reach their full potential and excel in all aspects of life.

The GCC Creativity and Excellence Award for Persons with Disabilities is a significant initiative that highlights the importance of empowering individuals with disabilities and providing them with the necessary support to thrive. By recognizing the achievements of both individuals and entities in this field, the award aims to promote awareness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. It is a step towards building a more inclusive and accessible society where all individuals, regardless of their abilities, are valued, respected, and supported in achieving their goals and aspirations.
