The Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar has launched its summer programme, “Our Summer, Our Way,” for the third season. Over a thousand students are participating in this programme, which is being held at ten Da’wah centers across the country. The Director of the Department, Malallah Abdul Rahman Al Jaber, stated that the main goals of the programme include enhancing faith and moral development, building personal skills and capacities, and teaching essential religious knowledge to the participants. Valuable prizes will be awarded to the students at the end of the programme, along with certificates.
The summer programme has attracted a significant number of young people aged 10 to 15 from all over the country. The activities and programmes offered aim to provide participants with beneficial and enjoyable experiences during their summer vacation. The programme runs four days a week, from Sunday to Wednesday, and will conclude on August 1st. The Department of Da’wah has made sure that the activity locations are suitable for the programme, with the chosen centers equipped with facilities and services that support a variety of activities for the participants.
Activities at the centres during the programme include segments on Quranic concepts, values-based educational and recreational programmes, and external recreational programmes in collaboration with the Internal Security Force. In addition to these, there are training programmes, skill-building sessions, and awareness courses in various fields such as cyber security, traffic safety, first aid, and voice improvement. These courses are being held in cooperation with the Traffic Department, Hamad Medical Corporation, and the Museum of Islamic Art.
The ten centers hosting the activities for the “Our Summer, Our Way” programme this year are spread geographically to cover main areas of the country. These centers are Qanbar Al Ansari Mosque in Al Wakrah, Ismail bin Ali Al Emadi Mosque in Al Thumama, Dar Al Salam Mosque in Abu Hamour, Nasser bin Abdullah Al Misnad Mosque in Al Khor, Maryam bint Khalifa Al Attiyah Mosque in Bin Omran, Moza bint Ali Al Thani Mosque in Dafna, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz Mosque in Muaither, Misfer bin Nasser Al Shahwani Mosque in Al Shahaniya, Mohammed Hamad Al Mana Mosque in Al Waab, and Saad Mohammed Jibran Al Kaabi Mosque in Labeeb. These centers are fully equipped to provide a range of educational and recreational activities for the participants.
