Doha: The Minister of Municipality HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaei inaugurated on Tuesday a workshop on institutional excellence, innovation and sustainability, in the attendance of the President at Civil Service and Government Development Bureau Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and a number of officials at the Ministry of Municipality.
The Minister of Municipality stressed in a speech at the opening of the workshop that it comes as part of the ministry’s constant efforts of improving the services it provides to the public, given its status as one of the most prominent ministries in terms of providing services to the public.
His Excellency said that the workshop also comes in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani of the importance of documentation and automation in all aspects of government work in order to improve efficiency.
He added that the workshop aims to enhance the role of governmental entities’ leaders in shaping the future and finding an institutional culture that encourages innovation and development.
The minister highlighted the achievements of Qatar in different fields under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the latest of which was hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and the ministry’s contribution in that regard. His Excellency added that these successes must serve as an incentive for further success in the future and more planning.
His Excellency noted that the workshop is held following the ministry’s new structure, in line with Amiri decision no. 40 of 2022, which added innovation to the department of quality and planning, with the goal of encouraging innovators to contribute to the development of work. He stressed that the Ministry of Municipality will continue institutional development to improve the level of services.
The Minister of Municipality also stressed that Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality, was one of the leading countries in the region and the world in achieving many achievements, most notably geographic information systems.
Qatar has succeeded in becoming an international and pioneering model in this field. His Excellency added that the goal of releasing such initiatives and programmes in the field of digital transformation is to achieve a qualitative leap in the services provided.
For his part, Al Khalifa said praised the ministry’s projects and initiatives, which were reviewed during the workshop.
He stressed the provision of full support to the Ministry of Municipality and all government agencies, for the success of its projects and services, noting the need to activate and support the role of the private sector within the strategies that are being implemented to take a greater role in the performance of services.
He pointed to the importance of coordination and linkage between all government agencies in the country through cooperation and signing agreements on the provision of services, so that the journey is integrated to obtain the service.
