In 2023, the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) in Doha held an impressive 1,570 activities, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Qatar. These activities ranged from workshops and courses to panel discussions, seminars, festivals, concerts, and various religious activities. Over 250 artists participated in 45 art exhibitions, displaying nearly 1,000 pieces of art including paintings, sculptures, and murals. Additionally, Katara collaborated with Arab and foreign embassies to screen 83 movies throughout the year.

The annual cultural index released by Katara highlights the organization’s commitment to promoting and preserving culture, art, and heritage. With a diverse range of activities and events, Katara has become a hub for cultural exchange and creativity in Qatar. From workshops and lectures to festivals and concerts, Katara offers something for everyone to enjoy and learn from. The presence of international movies screened in cooperation with embassies also adds a global perspective to the cultural offerings at Katara.

Art lovers in Qatar had the opportunity to experience the work of talented artists from around the world through the various exhibitions hosted by Katara. With nearly 1,000 pieces of art on display, including paintings, sculptures, and murals, visitors were able to immerse themselves in the beauty and creativity of the artistic community. The presence of 251 artists in 45 exhibitions reflects the vibrant and thriving art scene in Qatar, showcasing a wide range of styles and techniques.

The cultural activities held at Katara also included a variety of panel discussions, seminars, and lectures on topics relating to culture, art, and heritage. These events provided platforms for intellectual and creative exchange, allowing participants to engage in meaningful discussions and learn from experts in their respective fields. By hosting gatherings and forums on a wide range of topics, Katara fosters a sense of community and collaboration among artists, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts.

In addition to promoting local artists and cultural traditions, Katara also showcased the work of international filmmakers through the screening of 83 Arab and foreign movies. Collaborating with embassies, Katara provided audiences with the opportunity to explore diverse cinematic perspectives and narratives from around the world. By incorporating film into its cultural programming, Katara further enriches the cultural experience for visitors and contributes to the global dialogue on art and creativity.
