The Ministry of Labour in Qatar is set to launch the first phase of the “Ouqoul” platform, an initiative aimed at providing exceptional services for graduates from universities in Qatar and companies in the private sector. This platform is designed to streamline the recruitment process, making it easier for newly graduated students to find jobs that match their skills and career aspirations. According to the Director of Projects Department at the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Expatriate Labour Affairs, Eng. Munira Al Shraim, the platform will be launched in several phases, with the date of launch set to be announced soon.

In a recent interview with Qatar TV, Al Shraim stated that the platform will target expatriate students who have graduated from universities in Qatar, assisting them in joining the local job market in the private sector. She highlighted that these expatriate students are familiar with the local culture, traditions, and laws of Qatar, which makes their integration into the local community smoother than those recruited from overseas. The Ouqoul platform is specifically dedicated to expatriate students, as the Ministry of Labour continues its efforts to provide jobs for citizens in the private sector through separate platforms in alignment with the Third National Development Strategy.

The “Ouqoul” platform is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to enhance workforce productivity and leverage competencies, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The main objectives of the platform include creating a user-friendly interface, increasing employment opportunities for expatriate graduates from local universities, and improving the efficiency of the overall recruitment process. The platform will incorporate features such as identity verification systems, job posting capabilities, search functions, and an advanced dashboard for administrators, along with enhanced AI features to process resumes, match candidates with job opportunities, and provide chatbot support.

Expatriate students graduating from local universities will be able to create personal profiles using their university IDs, generate skill-based resumes using AI tools, search for job opportunities in Qatar’s private sector, and apply directly through the platform. Additionally, AI tools will support candidates in achieving their career goals by recommending courses needed to develop the required skills. Private sector companies will have the ability to publish job opportunities, search for suitable candidates, and manage recruitment processes efficiently through the platform, enabling them to reach the best candidates for their positions.

Overall, the introduction of the “Ouqoul” platform by the Ministry of Labour in Qatar marks a significant step towards enhancing the recruitment process for expatriate students and private companies in the country. With a focus on increasing employment opportunities and improving efficiency, this initiative aligns with Qatar’s vision for workforce development and economic growth. Expatriate students can look forward to accessing a streamlined platform to connect with job opportunities that match their skills, while private companies can benefit from a centralized system for recruiting top talent in the local market.
