The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar has recently announced the Government Scholarship Plan for 2024-2025, inviting successful Qatari students to take advantage of new opportunities and enhancements. This plan consists of three main programs: the Amiri Scholarship Program, the Domestic Scholarship Program, and the Overseas Scholarship Program. The goal of these programs is to meet the academic needs of Qatari students at different levels and enhance their educational opportunities both within Qatar and abroad.

One of the highlights of the Government Scholarship Plan is the Amiri Scholarship Program, which is designed for exceptional students who have excelled in their secondary school certificates. This program provides the opportunity for students to study abroad at some of the best universities globally, including five prestigious institutions within Education City in Doha. By focusing on vital disciplines such as medicine and engineering, the program aims to enhance national human resource capabilities and contribute to the goals of Qatar Vision 2030.

The Domestic Scholarship Program offers a wide range of opportunities for Qatari students, allowing them to enroll in both national and private universities within the country. Students with a secondary school certificate average of 60% or above can pursue various diploma plans, while those with higher averages have pathways available in fields such as science, pre-medical studies, and computer science. Exceptional students with averages of 80% or higher can further their studies in medicine, engineering, and computer science, ensuring that all talents are cultivated and nurtured.

In addition to the above programs, the Domestic Scholarship Program includes the “Tamoh” program, which offers Qatari males with an average of 70% or higher the opportunity to study at the College of Education at Qatar University. This program is open to all specializations within the College of Education and includes employment opportunities upon graduation at grade nine. Furthermore, students enrolled in the program receive financial privileges amounting to QR10,000 per month in addition to other service benefits.

The Overseas Scholarship Program is a gateway to global education for Qatari students, offering them the chance to enroll in top-ranked universities around the world. By requiring an average of 80% in the secondary school certificate and unconditional acceptance from an accredited university, this program ensures that only the most qualified and talented students are selected. With a focus on diversifying fields of study and increasing the number of graduates in various disciplines, the program has far-reaching effects on economic and social growth within Qatar.

Overall, the Government Scholarship Plan for 2024-2025 in Qatar provides a plethora of opportunities for Qatari students to further their education and career prospects. By offering programs such as the Amiri Scholarship Program, the Domestic Scholarship Program, and the Overseas Scholarship Program, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education aims to support the academic needs of Qatari students at different levels and enhance their educational opportunities both within the country and internationally. This initiative not only contributes to the personal and professional growth of the students but also aligns with the broader goals of Qatar Vision 2030 in developing a knowledge-based economy and fostering national human resource capabilities.
