The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, a global development and education foundation based in Doha, Qatar, is set to host the Walk for Education: CSR & Sustainability Fair on January 24, 2025, in collaboration with the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA). This event, themed ‘Help Educate Children,’ aims to raise awareness and funds to support EAA’s projects providing quality education to vulnerable and marginalized children around the world, aligning with the UN International Day of Education.
The fair, open to all community members, will take place at MIA Park from 1pm until 9pm on January 24, 2025. It promises a day filled with community engagement, fun activities, and meaningful support for education. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 attendees, including schools and private corporations. Attendees can partake in three symbolic walks led by corporate partners to show solidarity and support for education. There will also be a football tournament for schools, with winners receiving trophies and special awards, as well as stage performances from school groups showcasing their creativity through music, dance, and cultural presentations.
Individuals can contribute to the construction of two Assalam schools for underprivileged and disabled children in Qatar through the ‘Buy a Brick and Build a School’ campaign. By donating QAR 100 per brick, all proceeds will be dedicated to building schools that provide quality education for marginalized and vulnerable children in Qatar. Private corporations are also encouraged to participate through various sponsorship categories ranging from QAR 5,000 to QAR 200,000. These sponsors will showcase their CSR and sustainability efforts, engage with the public, and support EAA’s mission to provide education for marginalized children, with 100% of sponsorship proceeds directly funding education projects in Qatar.
The Walk for Education Fair will also feature engaging community activities such as calligraphy and art workshops for art enthusiasts, fun games and activities for children, as well as Food & Beverage vendors providing meals and refreshments, with a percentage of all sales proceeds supporting EAA’s educational projects in Qatar. Parintaj Ankleshvria, Director of Communications and Private Sector Partnerships at EAA Foundation, emphasized the importance of partnerships in driving quality education and sustainable development, urging private corporations to participate and showcase their CSR and sustainability initiatives to create lasting impact and ensure every child has access to quality education.
The fair presents a unique opportunity to highlight the power of partnerships in fostering social inclusion and empowerment, emphasizing the collective efforts needed to support education for marginalized and vulnerable children. By aligning with EAA’s sustainability goals, including Quality Education for All (SDG4), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG3), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17), the event demonstrates how community and corporate partnerships can create lasting, positive impact through education. Attendees are encouraged to support educating marginalized children globally through donations and contributions to building schools in Qatar, showcasing the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing education and creating a brighter future for all.
