The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID), Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Naimi, recently spoke at the 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue. He praised the conference as a platform for discussing key topics related to interfaith dialogue and highlighted the achievements of previous editions. This year’s conference, themed “Family Structure in Light of Changing World: (Religious Perspective)”, aims to bring together scholars, academics, and heads of dialogue centers from around the world to discuss the importance of family in different religious contexts.

Dr. Al Naimi emphasized the significance of uniting ideas and goals despite diverse visions and trends, and the conference provides an opportunity to overcome discrimination and establish common rules across religions. He highlighted the common religious values that emphasize the importance of family, compassion, solidarity, and cooperation among family members as shared by all divine religions. These values serve as the foundation for family cohesion, social harmony, and the resolution of various societal issues.

Religions have given special consideration to the family through divine revelations, laws, and commandments, providing intellectual, moral, and spiritual guidance for families to navigate through challenges and maintain unity. The conference’s message aims to promote a better understanding of religious principles and teachings in today’s multicultural and multifaith societies. Dr. Al Naimi stressed the importance of utilizing interfaith dialogue to strengthen family values, which face significant challenges due to globalization and advancements in information technology.

The conference’s themes revolve around the importance of faith in shaping families, the role of family in raising and educating individuals, and addressing current family concerns. By addressing these topics, the conference seeks to support and remedy the challenges faced by families today. Dr. Al Naimi encourages participants to engage in discussions that will enhance their understanding of the significance of family unity, solidarity, and cooperation across different religious beliefs.

In conclusion, the 15th Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue serves as a platform for scholars and religious leaders to come together and discuss the importance of family in various religious traditions. By promoting dialogue and understanding, the conference aims to address the challenges faced by families in today’s rapidly changing world and strengthen family values across different faiths. Dr. Al Naimi’s remarks underscore the need for collaboration and cooperation among diverse religious communities to support and enhance family cohesion, solidarity, and well-being.
