China has made its debut at the 33rd Doha International Book Fair, with books displayed at the Chinese booth organized by Beijing Zhongke Import and Export Ltd. The theme of the booth is ‘Reading China,’ featuring nearly 300 high-quality books across three exhibition areas. The boutique book exhibition area showcases books in English and Arabic, including Xi Jinping on Governance and Politics and Xi Jinping on One Belt, One Road, focusing on Chinese national governance and economic development.
The scientific and technological reading area highlights the latest achievements of Chinese authors in areas such as artificial intelligence and new energy, with titles like the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Terms. This book fair also marks the overseas debut of the world’s first multilingual intelligent professional thesaurus, the Encyclopedic Thesaurus of Terms, exploring big data terminology in 20 language versions. The Chinese Civilization Zone at the booth showcases Chinese culture through reading materials on the Great Wall, giant pandas, and Chinese language books, attracting visitors and enthusiasts alike.
During the book fair, the Chinese Publishing Pavilion held talks and exchanges with organizations like Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press and Lebanon Digital Future Company, discussing cooperation in publishing, copyright trade, and digital product sales. The Pavilion presented high-quality books reflecting contemporary China’s political, economic, cultural, scientific, and technological achievements, such as Xi Jinping on Governance and The Great Wall of Beijing, to the Association of Overseas Chinese in Qatar and other groups, expanding access to Chinese literature for Qatari readers.
