The Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, H E Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit recently met with the Korean Minister of National Defence, H E Shin Won Sik, during his visit to the Republic of Korea. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest and ways to enhance and develop bilateral military cooperation relations between the two countries. The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Korea, H E Khalid bin Ebrahim Al Hamar, along with other senior officers from the Qatar Armed Forces, also attended the meeting.
In addition to meeting with the Korean Minister of National Defence, H E Lieutenant General Al Nabit also met with the Korean Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, H E Admiral Kim Myung-soo. Discussions during this meeting also centered on enhancing bilateral military cooperation relations between Qatar and Korea. The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Korea and other senior officers from the Qatar Armed Forces were also present at this meeting.
During his visit to Korea, H E Lieutenant General Al Nabit also had the opportunity to meet with CEOs of Korean defense industry companies to discuss topics of common interest. Furthermore, he visited the factory of the fifth-generation fighter, KF-21, as well as a medium-range surface-to-air missile unit, M-SAM. Accompanied by senior officers from the Qatari Armed Forces, H E Lieutenant General Al Nabit’s visits aimed to strengthen ties between Qatar and Korea in the defense sector.
