Global Studies Institute in Qatar prioritizes student achievement through robust academic advising and comprehensive educational support, fostering strong retention rates in partnership with Arkansas State University. Ms. Amal Dib, Student Success Manager, emphasizes the importance of guiding students through their higher education journey to help them excel both academically and in their future careers. The focus is on preparing students to thrive in their academic pursuits while also preparing them for success after graduation.

From the moment students step foot on campus, GSI’s student success staff provide orientation programs, peer mentors, and specialized support services to help students transition smoothly into college life, fostering a sense of belonging and community. Academic advising plays a crucial role in student achievement, with advisors collaborating to plan course work and design unique paths tailored to students’ career aspirations. These advising sessions offer personalized feedback and assistance in areas such as course selection, time management, and overcoming academic obstacles, ensuring students are well-prepared for their academic and career journey.

GSI collaborates with Arkansas State University to offer a comprehensive career guidance program, including internships, work-study programs, résumé workshops, and LinkedIn profile creation services. These opportunities allow students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings, helping them prepare for the transition from university to the working world. Dr. Shaker Lashuel, the Executive Director of GSI, emphasizes the institute’s commitment to ensuring the success of students, with a focus on mentoring, development, and achieving high retention rates.

The Global Studies Institute in Qatar is dedicated to empowering educators and educational leaders through advanced programs and training. The Master of Science in Education in Educational Leadership program by Arkansas State University and the AI Certificate for Educators by Avila University are two flagship initiatives that showcase GSI’s commitment to enhancing educators’ competency in Qatar. The Master of Educational Leadership program is designed to cultivate future leaders in education, equipping educators with the skills and experiences needed to lead educational communities and drive school transformation.

In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, the integration of technology is crucial. The AI for Educators Certificate program by Avila University aims to help educators leverage artificial intelligence to improve student outcomes and instructional practices. Through hands-on learning initiatives and a curriculum that covers fundamental AI domains and pedagogical applications, educators can explore how to integrate AI tools into their classrooms to enhance student engagement and personalize the learning experience. Dr. Shaker Lashuel highlights GSI’s dedication to developing educators as change-makers in their schools through these advanced programs, providing them with the knowledge and skills to lead, innovate, and inspire their communities.
