The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Qatar, H E Fayez Majed Abu Al Rab, praised the UNGA speech delivered by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani as highly important in light of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Gaza Strip and defenseless Palestinians. He emphasized that the Amir’s speech reflected Qatar’s firm stance on the Palestinian cause, advocating for a just settlement based on international resolutions and charters as the only solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict. This includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Ambassador highlighted the Amir’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, noting Qatar’s clear and strong positions on the rights of the Palestinian people. He expressed appreciation for President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian people towards Qatar’s role in alleviating their suffering. The Amir’s speeches at the UN have consistently prioritized the Palestinian cause, advocating for the justice of Palestinians’ demands and their right to freedom and independence.

In his speeches, the Amir has emphasized the need for Israel to halt its aggression and war of extermination, lift the siege on the Gaza Strip, and engage in credible peace negotiations based on international resolutions. He has called for a timetable to end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state. The Ambassador stressed the Amir’s criticism of the international community’s inability to effectively address Israeli intransigence and ongoing settlement policies, underscoring that security and stability in the region can only be achieved through ending the occupation.

Qatar’s humanitarian and development support for the Gaza Strip, in collaboration with international partners and UNRWA, was highlighted by the Ambassador. He noted the Palestinian people’s gratitude towards Qatar for its brave positions in supporting their just cause in various international forums. Qatar’s continuous efforts to provide assistance to those in need in Gaza demonstrate its commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and advocating for their rights on a global platform.

In conclusion, the Ambassador commended the Amir’s strong stance on the Palestinian cause and his efforts to draw attention to the injustices faced by Palestinians. He reiterated Qatar’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in their quest for freedom and independence, calling for a just and lasting solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict based on international law and principles. The Ambassador emphasized that Qatar will continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and work towards achieving a peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict in the region.
