Van Life Oman, a factory specialized in converting buses into mobile caravans for overland trips, was opened by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Rashdi in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate. The caravans are authorized by relevant authorities and feature a modern design with all the necessary requirements for trips. Al Rashdi initially converted his own four-wheel drive vehicle into a mobile tourist caravan and continued to develop this hobby over the past five years. The factory, managed entirely by Omanis, employs over 20 people.

The process of converting a bus into a caravan involves several stages, starting with providing the bus and studying the customer’s needs for furniture and decorations. A three-dimensional design is created to show the final shape of the caravan, which is then submitted for initial approval from the relevant authorities. Once the design, accessories, tools, and price are agreed upon by the customer and the factory owner, the actual conversion process begins. It takes approximately three months from the time of agreement until the caravan is delivered to the customer.

Al Rashdi has received over 30 buses from Oman and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries for conversion. Using 75 percent locally-made tools and a partial percentage of imported tools, the factory also provides maintenance and treatment services for some parts, and adds accessories to the caravans. Each caravan is equipped with a small family seating area, sleeping beds, a kitchen, air conditioning, lighting, and energy sources from an electric generator, solar energy, and home charging.

The “Van Life Oman” factory aims to provide customers with a unique and personalized experience for their overland trips. The caravans are designed to meet the specific needs and preferences of each customer, ensuring comfort and convenience throughout the journey. With a focus on quality and innovation, the factory uses a combination of locally-made and imported tools to create durable and efficient mobile caravans.

Al Rashdi’s passion for converting vehicles into mobile caravans has led to the successful establishment of the factory, which has quickly gained popularity among tourists and adventure enthusiasts. By offering a wide range of customization options and high-quality services, the factory has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional products that exceed customer expectations. With a skilled team of employees and a commitment to excellence, Van Life Oman is poised to become a leading provider of mobile caravans in the region.

In conclusion, the opening of the “Van Life Oman” factory by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Rashdi marks an exciting new chapter in the world of overland trips and mobile caravans. With a focus on quality, innovation, and customization, the factory is set to revolutionize the way people experience travel and adventure. By combining local expertise with imported tools, Van Life Oman is able to create unique and modern caravans that cater to the needs of customers, providing them with a comfortable and convenient way to explore the great outdoors.
