Rear Admiral Saif Nassir Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), recently met with Brigadier General Taekyu Park, Commander of the 8th Combat Training Group, Republic of Korea, and his delegation to discuss naval cooperation between the two countries. The meeting, which took place at Al Murtafaa Garrison, was attended by senior RNO officers and the Military Attaché from the Korean Embassy in Muscat.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on various areas of naval cooperation between Oman and Korea, highlighting the importance of collaboration in the maritime sector. Following the meeting, the Korean military official and his delegation visited the Marine Security Centre (MSC) where they were greeted by the acting head of the MSC. The visiting delegation was briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the centre in ensuring the safety of the maritime environment.
The delegation also had the opportunity to tour the centre’s facilities and view the latest equipment and technologies used in carrying out its national duties. This visit provided valuable insights into the capabilities of the MSC and highlighted the importance of ongoing collaboration and cooperation between Oman and Korea in addressing common maritime challenges.
