The 27th Arab-German Economic Forum recently took place in Berlin, focusing on enhancing cooperation between the private sectors in Arab countries and Germany. Organized by the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the forum covered topics such as energy, technology, innovation, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, and training. The Sultanate of Oman was the “Guest of Honour” at the event, with a delegation led by Minister of Economy Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri and representatives from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). Eng. Hamoud Salim Al Saadi, Second Deputy of OCCI’s Board of Directors, highlighted the importance of maximizing economic relations and exchanging knowledge and experiences between Arab and German entities to open up new channels of bilateral cooperation.
Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Germany, underlined the significance of OCCI’s participation in trade and investment forums and expressed readiness to provide necessary facilities for establishing joint commercial projects in collaboration with relevant institutions from the public and private sectors. Oman’s delegation at the forum included representatives from sectors like smart cities, logistics, artificial intelligence, investment in special economic zones, free zones, tourism, and supply chains. They participated in a panel discussion titled “Investment Opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman” and presented on “Invest in Oman” to showcase various investment opportunities and business areas in the country.
