The State Council Office in Muscat held a meeting to discuss various proposals and amendments related to legal and economic matters. The meeting focused on the Legal Committee’s proposal regarding the “Draft law on documentation” and a proposal to amend some provisions of the “Law on Arbitration in Civil and Commercial Disputes”. This discussion took place as part of the 4th meeting of the State Council’s first convening during the 8th Term, chaired by Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili.
Additionally, the members of the State Council’s Office also discussed the Economic and Financial Committee’s proposal on developing the government’s performance management system and criteria for leadership positions. Furthermore, a proposal on the role of plant extracts in enhancing the local economy was also examined during the meeting. The State Council’s Office also reviewed the Council of Ministers’ response to observations and views made by the State Council and the Shura Council regarding the “Draft of State Budget 2024”.
During the meeting, two studies conducted by the State Council were elaborated on. The first study focused on the legislative and regulatory determinants for e-commerce, highlighting the importance of establishing clear guidelines for online business transactions. The second study explored the role of arts in supporting the national economy, emphasizing the cultural and economic significance of the arts industry in Oman.
