His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, President of the Omani Promising Startups Programme, recently led a workshop to review the progress of the Supervisory Committee and the Technical Committee. The goal of the workshop was to promote collaboration and coherence among government entities that support innovation-based Omani startups. Various topics were discussed, including the results of analytical studies conducted by Startup Genome Firm and proposed initiatives based on these studies. Additionally, the workshop examined the heat map of the startups system prepared by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. Participants included ministers, undersecretaries, members of the supervisory and technical committees, government representatives, and startup entrepreneurs.

The workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss key issues related to the development and support of Omani startups. The analytical studies conducted by Startup Genome Firm were a focal point of discussion, as they provide valuable insights into the startup ecosystem in Oman. The proposed initiatives based on these studies will help shape the future direction of the Omani Promising Startups Programme. By reviewing the heat map of the startups system, participants gained a better understanding of the current landscape and areas that require attention for further development. This collaborative effort among government entities and startups highlights the importance of fostering a conducive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The participation of ministers, undersecretaries, and members of the Supervisory and Technical Committees underscores the government’s commitment to supporting and promoting Omani startups. By engaging with stakeholders from various sectors, the workshop facilitated a productive exchange of ideas and insights on how to best support the growth and success of startups in Oman. The collaborative nature of the workshop reflects a concerted effort to streamline efforts and resources towards advancing the startup ecosystem in the country. Through ongoing dialogue and collaboration, stakeholders can work together to address challenges and seize opportunities for greater impact.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for startups to engage with government representatives and key decision-makers, fostering a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurship. By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, including startup entrepreneurs, government officials, and industry experts, the workshop facilitated networking and knowledge-sharing that can help catalyze the growth of Omani startups.
