Nizwa recently hosted the annual day celebrations of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on 5 January. The event took place at the military parade grounds of the Sultan Qaboos Academy of Police Sciences in the Wilayat of Nizwa and was held under the patronage of Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court. The ceremony included the graduation of various batches of cadet officers, including those with a Diploma in Law and Police Sciences, as well as officers from the Internal Security Service and the Royal Guard of Oman, alongside officers from Bahrain and Djibouti.

The ceremony concluded with chants of “Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander”, a salute to the chief guest, and a parade of ROP Cavalry accompanied by musical tunes by the ROP Band.
