RAO conducts live demonstration of Oman-Iran military exercise “Mountain Falcons”

Al Jabal Al Akhdar, located in Oman, was recently the site of a practical demonstration drill of the Joint Omani-Iranian Military Exercise known as “Mountain Falcons”. Organized by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) and supported by the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the drill showcased the participating forces’ high level of performance. The event was held under the supervision of Maj. Gen Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the RAO, and attended by Brigadier-General Kiumars Heidari, Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army Ground Forces. The drill, conducted in the RAO combat training zone in mountainous areas of the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, included a briefing and practical demonstration of military tactics.

The participating units in the drill demonstrated their ability to operate seamlessly together and execute the training objectives effectively. The successful execution of the drill highlighted the coordination and cooperation between the Omani and Iranian military forces. Military exercises like the Joint Omani-Iranian Military Exercise are a crucial part of the Sultan’s Armed Forces’ (SAF) annual training plans and programs. These drills, often conducted in collaboration with armies of Arab and friendly countries, serve to enhance the capabilities and readiness of the military forces and strengthen regional security.

The practical demonstration drill was attended by senior officers from the Sultan’s Armed Forces, high-ranking officers from the Iranian Ground Forces, and the Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Muscat. The presence of these dignitaries underscored the importance of the Joint Omani-Iranian Military Exercise and the cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces. The drill showcased the professionalism and dedication of the participating forces and their commitment to working together to ensure regional stability and security.

Al Jabal Al Akhdar’s rugged terrain provided an ideal backdrop for the practical demonstration drill, allowing the participating forces to showcase their skills and tactics in a challenging environment.
