The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, along with the Ministry of Labour, recently announced the availability of over 1,000 job opportunities in the wholesale and retail sector in Oman. This includes both direct job positions and opportunities at fuel stations, aiming to provide employment opportunities for Omani citizens. Additionally, the ministry has collaborated with a specialized academy in the retail sector to offer training alongside 300 direct job placements, with support from the Employment and Training Support Centre at the Ministry of Labour.

This initiative was launched during the signing ceremony of cooperation programmes with various wholesale and retail sector establishments in Oman, as well as the introduction of the “Itqan” programme for the industrial sector. The goal is to strengthen the role of Omani youth in the retail and industrial sectors by providing them with the necessary skills and training. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion has also signed cooperation programmes with factories, industrial facilities, and higher education institutions to ensure that Omani youth are equipped with the technical knowledge needed for these sectors.

The “Itqan” programme is part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to support employment opportunities and enhance the skills of Omani youth in key sectors of the economy. By collaborating with both public and private sector entities, the Ministry aims to bridge the gap between education and industry, ensuring that Omani citizens are prepared for the workforce. Through these partnerships, young Omanis will have access to training, job opportunities, and development programmes to excel in the wholesale, retail, and industrial sectors.

The cooperation programmes with various establishments in the wholesale and retail sector, as well as with factories and industrial facilities, highlight the government’s commitment to promoting economic growth and increasing the participation of Omani nationals in the workforce. By providing on-the-job training and direct job placements, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion is creating pathways for Omani youth to enter and thrive in these important sectors, ultimately contributing to the country’s overall economic development.

In line with the government’s vision to empower Omani youth and enhance their skills, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion continues to prioritize initiatives that support job creation and skill development. The partnership with a specialized retail academy, along with the signing of cooperation programmes with key industry players, demonstrates the Ministry’s dedication to fostering a skilled and competitive workforce in Oman. Through targeted training programmes and employment opportunities, Omani youth are being equipped with the tools needed to succeed in the wholesale, retail, and industrial sectors, ultimately driving economic growth and prosperity in the Sultanate.

Overall, the Ministry’s collaborative efforts with various stakeholders highlight the importance of investing in human capital and supporting the growth of key sectors in Oman. By nurturing a skilled workforce and facilitating job opportunities, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion is paving the way for Omani youth to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economy. Through targeted programmes like “Itqan” and partnerships with industry leaders, the Ministry is creating a pathway for Omani citizens to thrive in the competitive wholesale, retail, and industrial sectors, ultimately driving sustainable economic development in Oman.
