Oman and Nauru Republic seek to collaborate in various areas

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi met with President David Ranibok Adeang of Nauru at the General Diwan of the Foreign Ministry in Muscat. President Adeang’s visit was in connection with the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) held in Oman. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen diplomatic ties and promote economic cooperation between the two countries. They explored opportunities to improve commercial communications and foster bilateral and multilateral partnerships in sectors such as tourism, mining, energy, and fisheries.

One of the key topics of discussion was the exchange of expertise in protecting the environment and oceans to preserve natural resources. Both sides highlighted the importance of addressing climate change and its impact on the environment. The meeting also aimed to find ways to enhance collaboration in environmental conservation efforts, while maximizing the benefits for both countries. The presence of Deputy Minister for Deep Sea-Bed Mining, Delvin Thoma, and other officials from Nauru further emphasized the mutual commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

Oman and Nauru share a common interest in potential economic growth and development, especially in sectors like tourism, mining, and energy.
