National Day and Constitution Day celebrations of Nepal held in Oman

The Embassy of Nepal recently hosted a reception at Intercontinental Muscat Hotel to celebrate the National Day and the Constitution Day of Nepal. The event was attended by various government officials, diplomats, media persons, business entrepreneurs, members of the Nepali community, and more. Ambassador Dornath Aryal lit the traditional Panas Lamp to formally commence the occasion. In his speech, Ambassador Aryal talked about the significance of the Constitution of Nepal in promoting peace, stability, and economic progress. He also highlighted the strong diplomatic relations between Oman and Nepal since 1977.

The Ambassador discussed recent high-level visits between the two countries, such as the visit of Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi to Nepal and Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal’s visit to Oman. He also mentioned the successful completion of the third investment Summit in Nepal, which aimed to attract more foreign investment to the country. Ambassador Aryal praised Oman’s Vision 2040 strategy and expressed gratitude for the job opportunities provided to over 22,000 Nepalis in various sectors in Oman.

As part of the celebration, a joint celebration cake was cut by the Guest of Honour and the Ambassador. A “Nepali food Corner” was set up serving traditional Nepali dishes, and various Nepali products, handicrafts, and paintings were displayed. Additionally, a tourism promotional video showcasing the attractions of Nepal was shown during the event. The event was conducted by Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary/DCM.

The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat hosted a reception at Intercontinental Muscat Hotel to commemorate the National Day and Constitution Day of Nepal. The event saw the participation of various dignitaries, including Dr. Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, as the Guest of Honour. The reception was attended by representatives from the government delegation of Oman, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, media persons, tourism and business entrepreneurs, bloggers, members of the Nepali community, and Embassy staff. The formal proceedings began with Ambassador Dornath Aryal lighting the traditional Panas Lamp.

Ambassador Aryal highlighted the importance of the Constitution of Nepal in promoting peace, stability, and economic progress in the country. He emphasized the values of inclusive democracy enshrined in the constitution, including the guarantee of 33 percent participation of women in every organ of the state. The Ambassador also spoke about the strong and longstanding diplomatic relations between Oman and Nepal, dating back to 1977. He mentioned recent high-level visits between the two countries and the successful completion of the third investment Summit in Nepal.

A joint celebration cake was cut by the Guest of Honour and the Ambassador, marking the festive occasion. A “Nepali food Corner” was set up, offering traditional Nepali dishes such as MoMo, and showcasing Nepali products, handicrafts, and paintings. A tourism promotional video highlighting the attractions of Nepal was also shown during the event. The programme was conducted by Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary/DCM. Overall, the reception was a celebration of the strong diplomatic ties and friendship between Oman and Nepal.
