The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Muscat is gearing up to organize several events in the near future to attract tourists from different regional and international markets. One of the key events on the horizon is the “Marhaba Dhofar” event, which is set to take place in the Dhofar Governorate. This event will see significant participation from tourism sector partners from Oman as well as counterparts from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The goal of the “Marhaba Dhofar” event is to bolster tourism cooperation between Oman and Saudi Arabia and to showcase the unique tourism offerings of the Dhofar Governorate, including the acclaimed “Sarb” season and winter tourism activities.

Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, the Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, highlighted that the “Marhaba Dhofar” event is expected to draw around 50 tourism companies from Saudi Arabia and 15 media professionals from the Kingdom’s leading media institutions. A comprehensive program has been put together for the event, encompassing discussion sessions, bilateral business meetings between Omani and Saudi tourism companies, and visits to prominent tourist sites and landmarks in the Dhofar Governorate. Exciting field trips to the region’s main tourist attractions are also on the agenda, offering participants a well-rounded experience showcasing the beauty and charm of Dhofar.

The “Marhaba Dhofar” event is a testament to the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing tourism ties with neighboring countries and promoting the unique tourism offerings of Oman, especially in the picturesque Dhofar Governorate. By facilitating discussions and collaborations between Omani and Saudi tourism companies, the event aims to foster meaningful partnerships that can help drive tourism growth in the region. The participation of media professionals from Saudi Arabia is expected to generate widespread coverage of Dhofar’s tourism attractions, further raising the profile of the region among potential travelers from the Kingdom and beyond.

The stunning landscapes, rich culture, and diverse attractions of the Dhofar Governorate make it a prime destination for tourism, attracting visitors seeking unique experiences and natural beauty. The region’s “Sarb” season, known for its lush greenery and pleasant climate, presents an ideal opportunity for tourists to explore the area’s natural wonders and enjoy outdoor activities. Winter tourism in Dhofar offers a different perspective, with cooler temperatures and a host of cultural events and festivals that showcase the region’s heritage and traditions.

With its focus on promoting cross-border tourism cooperation and showcasing the best of Dhofar’s tourism offerings, the “Marhaba Dhofar” event is poised to play a crucial role in bolstering Oman’s tourism sector and strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia. By bringing together tourism industry players from both countries and providing a platform for collaboration and exchange, the event sets the stage for future partnerships and joint initiatives that can benefit the tourism sector on a wider scale. As Oman continues to position itself as a premier tourism destination in the region, events like “Marhaba Dhofar” serve as valuable opportunities to showcase the country’s unique attractions and foster greater cooperation with key tourism markets.
